How PracticeKey Works

A transparent, physician-to-physician marketplace for practice transitions — built to protect legacy and remove middlemen.

01

Create Your Profile

Practice Owners

Build a confidential listing for your practice. Share your specialty, size, deal structure preferences, and culture without revealing your identity until you choose. Your practice name stays hidden until you approve a buyer.

Physicians

Create a verified physician profile with your specialty, training, timeline, and acquisition preferences. The more complete your profile, the better your matches. NPI verification adds credibility.

02

List or Browse

Practice Owners

Your listing is published to PracticeKey's network of verified physicians. You control visibility, can pause at any time, and receive structured inquiries — no unsolicited cold calls.

Physicians

Browse practices filtered by specialty, location, deal type, price range, and culture fit. Save favorites, review redacted profiles, and request access to listings that interest you.

03

Legacy Intelligence Matches You

For Both Sides

Our Legacy Intelligence network analyzes physician profiles and practice listings to surface high-quality connections. Rather than relying on a simple score, the network weighs specialty alignment, geographic fit, deal structure compatibility, and culture signals to recommend the right introductions.

How It Works

You'll receive curated match notifications when a practice aligns with your stated preferences. Legacy Match designations indicate that PracticeKey has reviewed the listing and believes it meets standards for quality, transparency, and physician ownership continuity.

04

Connect Directly

Pre-Screening

Interested physicians submit a brief pre-screening application before seeing confidential details. You review their profile and approve or decline — keeping full control over who gets access to your practice information.

Application Process

Once pre-screening is approved, you'll unlock the full listing: practice name, asking price, financials, and owner contact. From there, you connect directly — no broker, no middleman, no commission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my identity kept confidential?

Yes. Practice owners list under a redacted name until they approve a buyer's pre-screening application. Physicians' profiles are only shared with practice owners when they express interest in a specific listing.

Does PracticeKey charge a commission?

No. PracticeKey is a subscription-based platform. We do not charge a transaction fee or commission on any sale. Our goal is to connect physicians efficiently, not to take a cut of the deal.

What deal types are available?

PracticeKey supports full practice sales, equity buy-ins, associate tracks with an ownership path, recruiting placements, and mentorship arrangements. You can filter by deal type when browsing.

How does financing work?

PracticeKey has partnered with Panacea Financial, Live Oak Bank, and U.S. Bank Practice Solutions to offer preferred rates for members. Pre-qualification is a soft pull only and does not impact your credit score.

What happens after two physicians connect?

After a pre-screening is approved, both parties communicate directly. PracticeKey does not participate in negotiations. We recommend working with a healthcare attorney and a qualified accountant during due diligence.
